Vancouver based jewelry designers Wade Papin and Danielle Wilmore are the force behind Pyrrha Design. They take their company name from the myth of Pyrrha and Deucalion, a story of two young lovers who are the sole survivors of a catastrophic flood. Realizing that as difficult as it is to live amongst other people, it is even more difficult to live in complete isolation, the pair takes stones from the ground and throw them over their shoulders: the stones that Deucalion throws become men while the stones thrown by Pyrrha turn into women. Wade and Danielle met in 1993. After a year of relative isolation together they realized that if they could survive each other's idiosyncrasies they could certainly survive the strain of starting a business. The pair began selling their designs locally; ten years later they are selling their line across the world. All of their production takes place in their top floor studio in Vancouver. The entire line is manufactured in the city that they love.
