Having worked in the jewelry business for over seven years, Melanie Pritchett decided it was time to start creating her own pieces. Melanie started working at a jewelry boutique in her hometown of Houston, Texas while in high school. Working behind an experienced and talented gold and silversmith, Melanie learned the key to jewelry is beauty and quality.

She graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with a degree in finance. Instead of taking the normal path of a college grad, Melanie moved to Sydney, Australia. Traveling is Melanie's second passion. From her travels through Indonesia, Australia, Europe, Texas and now living in California, every one of Lemel Designs is inspired by somewhere she has been.

Melanie now lives in Los Angeles, California in the eclectic Venice Beach. There she took it upon herself to take a jewelry class at Otis Design School. Now she spends every spare second designing and creating jewelry. Every piece is handmade, keeping quality in mind.
