Chardé, forerunner in unique yet
classic fine jewelry, all began with
a vision by Cliff Hybarger. When he
opened the doors in 1987 he began
with mostly silver pieces. Inspired
by Mexican silver and Native
American work, he offered true
craftsmanship in his jewelry
selections, always keeping his
customers in mind. Chardé quickly
became a neighborhood staple. Cliff
opened his first store in 1975 in
New Braunsfels, Texas, giving him
30+ years experience in jewelry
repair, offering in house, personal
attention to each piece. You can
often catch Cliff, when you come in
the store, buried at his bench,
always taking time to look up from
his spectacles to greet each
customer. Six years ago, he brought
Chardé to the chic, sophisticated
Village Place, nestled in between
Houston’s finest boutiques. Most
recently, he has expanded his store
into a gallery of over 100+ artists
and designers, ranging from
platinum, gold, sterling silver and
even acrylic. When entering Chardé,
you feel like you have walked into
an oasis of jewelry. There is truly
something for everyone. He continues
a quest for looking for new artists
to represent in his gallery, and
travels to jewelry shows to keep up
with trends and current fashion.

Becky Kelso, Chan Luu, Me & Ro, and

cast a design from almost any metal,
